Objectives
Identify features of benign thyroid nodules on aspirate smears.
Identify features of common malignant thyroid neoplasms (eg. papillary thyroid carcinoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma).
Learn different acellular (background) features associated with various thyroid nodules.
Learn the diagnostic categories in the Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytology.
Learn some molecular alterations of common thyroid neoplastic entities.
